Maud Morgan

Happy Birthday Maud!
An inspiring woman and artist to many, especially in the New England area she called home for so long. I had the privilege of knowing her.

La Bougie du Sapeur

This French humourist newspaper has been published every Leap Day since 1980, named after the sapper Camembert, a comics character created by Georges Colomb in the 1890's. The title of the paper translates as The Sapper's Candle.
Leap Day aka Bissextile Day, as you know, occurs every four years. A child born on this day may be known as a Leapling.
I am going to plant a tree today, a sweet chestnut, in honour of my son Noah and the dear family of cats who live with us.
Have a grand day today and treat yourself in a sapper way!

Wolfgang Laib

Today I want to share some work by the German artist Wolfgang Laib.
I love his work.
He is collecting pollen in a wildflower field then he carefully spreads it on the floor of a space, finally we see the large square of yellow pollen.

Camille Graeser

Today is the birthday of Camille Graeser if he were still alive he might celebrate it.
Switzerland had quite a Constructivist/Concrete art movement and there is a museum in Zurich dedicated to the work of many of them e.g. Richard Paul Lohse and Max Bill. It is called the KKK sammlung.
I talk about the Martins in this blog sometimes and they called themselves Constructionists.
Enjoy the work as much as I do!

Windy Vindig

The Flow of Air

WIND
The one constant where I live is the wind. It is a very windy place this northern landscape.
Pretty much every day it is windy. When it is windstill it is so quiet and still it seems unnatural. That is when I like to go out in the morning especially, the wind increases over the day and by evening it is rarely but breezy in the valley.
If it is windstill in the evening it is almost like holding ones breath.
