Seen down the lane...on this very evening walk.

In my meadow I have a "goosegog" bush growning now with plump green berries.
Foxgloves have just started blooming and as they are bi-annual it is a treat to discover them this year!

Digitalis purpurea is in fact poisonous but its extract is used in heart medicine to slow the heart down.
Yellow Flag Iris grow in the ditch down Sheep Lane and glorifies it!

Igor Stravinsky born today in 1882

I love this portrait.

BLOOMSDAY

Marilyn reading Ulysses.
Sylvia Beach of Shakespeare & Co. in Paris and James Joyce just before the publication of Ulysses.
First Edition of Ulysses. Joyce wanted it to have a Greek blue so as to hint at Homer.
BLOOMSDAY the 16th of June in 1904 is that day in Dublin when Ulysses takes place. It is celebrated every year in Dublin and elsewhere. At the Morden Tower in Newcastle on the Roman wall for instance they have poetry readings.
Have you read it?
