Etruria 1

Etruscan Dolium
Since reading Etruscan Places by D.H. Lawrence as a very young person I had always wanted to visit Etruria. When I finally was able to, just recently, I felt a deep kinship with the vulcanic landscape, the objects and figures, the history and the sites that I visited. I liked what I learned about the Etruscans. Slowly by slowly I will share here in DJANG about this culture.

Some cool record sleeves from the collection...

Here is some cover art which I like or find charmingly dated. The Raincoats, George Harrison, Nina Simone, Marianne Faithfull, Patti Smith, The Slits, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison. Enjoy!

Rupert Murdoch born today in 1931

This man wields far too much political power. I suggest he retires pronto!

Tesoro 6

Villa Lante in Bagnaia near Viterbo in Lazio. It is as you can see a formal Italian garden yet because of its many different levels this garden has many rooms. One with a maze, another with a "wild meadow", a small grove, a grotto and a cascading step waterfall fountain which is superb! It is a lovely oasis and very relaxing because it feels intimate and manageable, even though it has endless rooms. This is one of my Italian tesori!

Vielen Dank for sharing Etretat, in Normandie, France as one of your Tesori Johannes!

I would really appreciate it if anyone else wishes to contribute their Tesori to DJANG!

Perhaps we could make a DJANG Tour of Tesori?

This took place at Monument , where Earl Grey stands on a pillar much like Nelson's at Trafalgar Square, in Newcastle city centre two years ago.
