Patrick Heron
Driving home today from my local village, and the fishvan man Archie from Eyemouth in Scotland, I saw Patrick swoop over the car and follow it for a while. We drove along the North Tyne and passing fields with sheep and newborn lambs! There is a heronry nearby and we see him quite often. Each time is a real treat. He likes to fly above the river snaking its way in the valley.

The white peacock
Blanca blanco vit weiss white blanc bianco bianca...
I am reminded of going to Holland Park while I was pregnant with my son and looking at the white peacocks there. I find them so beautiful in a very special way, more so than the blue/green peacocks. They are spectacular and impressive but the white ones really hold my attention. What is it about white cats, white buffalo, white horses? They are magical, just like all black cats, horses, etc. Void of colour they are powerful.

Virginia Woolf died today in 1941.
Adeline Virginia Stephen with her father Sir Leslie Stephen in 1902.
Virginia Woolf painted by Vanessa Bell, her sister.
Today in 1941 Virginia Woolf left Monk's House near Lewes in East Sussex to drown herself in the nearby river Ouse. She filled her pockets with stones and walked in to the river. The note which she left for Leonard spoke of her deep despair and not being able to go through another bout of illness and also of putting him through it. She suffered from what is thought to be bi-polar.

Yellow Gul Jaune Gelb
Yellow forsythia.
Yellow daffodils, masses of them. Yellow coltsfoot or tussilago.
Yellow primrose path.
Yellow gorse galore!

Yellow has always been the colour of Hope for me. Every spring in the areas where I have lived the first blossoms are yellow. The gorse, forsythia, daffodils, coltsfoot and primroses.
It is also a happy and fresh colour.
Hope is what it makes me feel.
When I am in NYC and I see the yellow cabs I feel such relief, a sense of hope and safety! All you have to do is flag one down. That is all!
Yellow chicks, yellow yolks,...
I park my skyblue car under a forsythia bush/shrub at present. It looks lovely!

Siberian Iris
Transamerica
Felicity Huffman the actor who plays Bree in Transamerica is truly amazing. A moving portrayal and very convincing. It is quite a feat for a woman playing a man who is a transexual.
Kevin Zeger plays Toby his/her son.
I enjoyed the film mainly for the performance, but the art direction is hilarious with its pastel extravaganza, and the road movie parts gave me wanderlust again. I have crossed the US 7 times on wheels.
