Last night I stood below the Milky Way looking up and letting my eyes adjust to the vast expanse above and a different way of focussing. Over time I started seeing meteors. I would not describe it as a shower of meteors more like occasional flashes. They were exhilarating however! I saw several while I stood in a light drizzle with a wee pussycat sitting by my feet in the dark. Light clouds moved overhead and it gave me a chance to turn in all directions looking up at the most amazing sight of all; the Milky Way itself.
I am lucky in that I live in an area with hardly any light pollution at all.
